Making the Army Pay
Well I've been down in Florida for about a week now. I've gotten a fair amount of things accomplished, if I do say so myself. I'm enrolled for 9 credits worth of classes at a Indian River Community College. I didn't exactly the best pick of classes since I was registering pretty late in the registration period. But I'm all set for Western Civ, American History and College Computing. Now, I could have easily tested out of College Computing. From what the counselor told me, it's mainly about how to format documents and such in the various ways professors will want them for reports, essays, etc. Too easy, right? Well it's worth 3 credits and puts me up to ¾ benefits from the Army. So sign me up! All I have to pay for is semester tuition and books. So it looks like the Army is going to be paying my rent for the forseeable future. Another thing is that in the Summer I only need to take 4 credits to be considered full time so it'll be 100% benefits. So I'm pretty excited that the Army is starting to give back to me now. And I know from a great deal of personal experience, that the Government really doesn't care about their employees, financially speaking. So now it's my right to force them to pay up and I'm going to enjoy ever dollar of it. Lets see, what else. Friday I went out and did a few interviews. I should be hearing back from a couple of them soon and I'm planning on going back to follow up on a couple either today or tomorrow. The next big hurdle will be getting myself into an apartment so I can stop freeloading off Robb and Robyn--who have been way more than gracious hosts, by the way--and start to feel somewhat "on my own."
