So I haven't posted anything in a few days. OK, sorry about that. I should be back to my daily or every-other-day posting routine now.
In my defense I've been a little busy the past few days. On Monday I had an interview with the Walgreens District Manager. That was a good time. After that I didn't do too much really. All in all I think the interview went really well. Especially considering it was my first interview of any real consequence.
Yesterday I got a call from the DM, who offered me the job. So that's great! That was my last big hurdle to overcome. So I drove up to the Cove Rd. location to fill out some background paperwork, then headed down to the clinic for my pre-employment drug screening. Those are always fun. I've done many, many of those in the Army, somewhere between 10 and 20, so this was nothing new for me. It may be awkward for some, but since I've been through this so many times I like to have fun with it. I got some weird looks from the nurses but I didn't care. I laughed inside.
So today I have another Western Civ class. It's with Prof. Farley, so I'm looking forward to it. Since we missed a class b/c of that wanna-be rainstorm Ernesto, he postponed a test we were supposed to have, so I don't really have to study for it. However, my American History class is tomorrow and the Prof for that class is crazy. She decided she didn't want to have class last week and she has a quiz every week, so tonight I'm going to have to study two classes worth of reading since I'm sure she'll try to give us two quizzes tomorrow. I'm not too fond of this lady.
Cable gets hooked up today! Between 1 PM and 5PM. Hopefully they hold to their timelines better than FPL since my class starts at 5. I may have to show up late. But this is great. Very soon I'll be recording hours worth of shows for my later viewing pleasure(DVR/Tivo rocks.)
On the dog thing. I'm going to hold off on that for a few months. Mainly because I just don't have the ability to care for an animal like I should at the moment and I won't know if I'll be able to until I'm used to my regular work schedule. Plus I'm not entirely sure I want to deal with house training a dog. Too much hassle when I could be spending my free time doing whatever I want instead of following the dog around.
So I haven't ran at all this week. This is bad. However, I haven't eaten any desert sort of foods. That's not an excuse. That's all for now. I'll write more later.

Congrats on the job, that's great!!
Phree philosophiphical responses: "free time". Hmmm...is there such a thing? Don't you remember Acey saying "You can't kill time without hurting the hereafter, or something like that.
In truth I think we misunderstand the idea of leisure, thinking it is always 'wasting time'. Sitting around and resting is often very wholesome, etc. -- you know the discussion.
Just had to tweak you a bit, little brother. Love looking at your blog.
Congrats on classes, exercise, and the job progress.
Love,
RH
Saying hi again -- hope the evening went well. Great to stay in touch.
Great job, Ron. When do you start work. You're doing great with the eating discipline. Don't give up on the running. I know you are committed. It was great to hear from you. Love, Mom
